FIOD publishes English translation of annual report

The Fiscal Intelligence and Investigation Service (FIOD) published the English translation of its 2024 annual report. In this annual report, the FIOD accounts for its key results. It also provides insight into the expertise the FIOD uses to combat financial and tax crime.

The ongoing internationalization and digitization of society also impacts investigative practices. Digital criminal money flows and international cooperation are playing an increasingly important role in financial and tax crime, and thus in the FIOD's investigations.

The annual report offers insights into the work of FIOD investigators. In interviews, practical examples, and the FIODCast (podcast in Dutch), they share their experiences with the increasing digitization and internationalization of their work. Collaboration with the Tax and Customs Administration, the Public Prosecution Service, supervisory authorities, and international partners is also highlighted.

This year marks a special occasion: the FIOD is celebrating its 80th anniversary. Since its founding in 1945, the agency has become a vital player in the fight against financial and tax fraud. The annual report concludes with a historical retrospective of eight decades of investigative work.
